Doyle Brunson leaving DoylesRoom
May 14, 2011 - 7:25 AM - by SlyDawg
Doyle Brunson, the Godfather of poker, has left his namesake online poker site DoylesRoom.com in the wake of federal indictments against the owners of 3 or the world’s largest online poker sites. The news comes just 2 days after DoylesRoom released a major software upgrade. Today’s news is no doubt on advice from Doyle’s attorney’s to get out of the spotlight.

Brunson issued this statement to Gambling911.com earlier today,

“Reluctantly, I have decided to terminate my endorsement contract with Doylesroom.com. It pains me to leave at this time. I have aspirations of reentering the online poker business when the United States Government passes legislation, that officially legalize online poker sites. Doylesroom management has decided to continue to serve U.S. customers. Although they believe they have the right to market the name Doylesroom and to use my name and likeness for a period of time, I have asked them not to. Good

AP/UB Filing for Bankruptcy
May 05, 2011 - 6:57 AM - by SlyDawg
This post is from HoldemPokerChat.......

Earlier today the parent company, Blanca Gaming, of the Cereus Network which owns Absolute Poker and UB sent out and email to their shareholders letting them know that they will most likely be filing for bankruptcy. Absolute Poker and UB ran their operations from a four story building in Costa Rica that as of this moment is closed and empty. Everything was removed and 95% of their workforce was let go.

Since Black Friday we have not heard much of anything from either poker site even though they continued to allow US players to play. Still the Network lost 70% of it’s traffic and has become an insignificant poker network. Players still cannot withdraw and many are starting to think they never will unless the U.S. DoJ releases the frozen funds. Currently non US players are allowed to withdraw a maximum of $250 every two weeks.

Things do not look good and as a result we’ve removed Absolute Poker and UB... [Read More]

PokerStars Cashout
Apr 27, 2011 - 4:37 AM - by SlyDawg
On Tuesday afternoon at around 4 p.m. EST, PokerStars sent out an email to its United States players, explaining that cash outs are now available. The move comes 11 days after the site was shutdown in American cyberspace, and less than a week since PokerStars regained its dot-com domain to facilitate returns.

A copy of one of the emails is listed below:

In light of recent developments, PokerStars is no longer offering real money play to residents of the United States of America and its territories.

The PokerStars Cashier is now available for you to cash out the funds in your real money account balance. We strongly recommend that you use the bank transfer option; to use it, you will need to have your current banking information at hand.

Please note that due to the expected high volume of cashout requests, we anticipate a delay in processing and delivery of your funds. Rest assured that your funds are safe and

PokerStars and FullTilt News
Apr 20, 2011 - 9:33 PM - by SlyDawg
On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Justice announced a deal with PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker to begin the process of paying out players affected by last week’s indictments. Although a significant number of questions are still left unanswered, the process of paying out money owed to U.S. customers on PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker appears to have begun.

A Department of Justice press release read in part, “This office expects the companies to return the money that U.S. players entrusted to them, and we will work with the poker companies to facilitate the return of funds to players, as today’s agreements with PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker demonstrate.”

As part of the agreement, PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker will each regain use of their primary domain names, PokerStars.com and FullTiltPoker.com, respectively. For what purpose, you ask? The release continues, “The agreements allow for PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker to use the pokerstars.com

PokerStars is pleased to confirm that the US Department of Justice has agreed to release the www.pokerstars.com domain name for use by PokerStars outside of the US.

The company categorically denies the allegations brought by the US Department of Justice on April 15th 2011 and is taking all steps necessary to robustly defend itself, and the two named individuals. Meanwhile, the company has stopped offering real money poker services in the United States.
